Phippsburg Church Sermon and Local Matters
A report from Phippsburg describes Rev George Itler of Hartford addressing 33 attendees at the Congregational church along with music by Miriam Bull and organ duties by Miss Minott. An adjourned meeting, Emma Perry resigning as treasurer after 16 years, and Mrs. Stanley Gilman as successor are noted. A communion service is planned with Rev Wilbur of Waterford as speaker. The annual meeting for the burying ground was postponed due to weather. Further notes cover Marine Growths operations, weather effects on weed gathering, and debates over Church Lane road with references to Thomas Minott and property lines near Cranberry Point. Repair work shifts opening date of Phippsburg public walks to Monday, Sept. per Stanwood Kilman.
