The Democratic rally at Bath municipal auditorium on Friday September 6 will feature either Senator David Walsh or Paul McNutt as speaker. Ex Gov Louis Brann and Gov candidate Redman join the slate, with Peter MacDonald and Alderman Burgess organizing an amplified event for Sagadahoc county. A planning meeting is set for next Thursday.

Child Welfare Conference Held in Sagadahoc Ferry
Sponsored by the State Bureau of Public Health a child welfare conference met Thursday at the Good Will club in Sagadahoc Ferry with 17 children aged from a few months to six years. Diphtheria inoculations were given. Dr Willis B. Mitchell of Wiscasset and Miss Jessie Sutherland RN of Damariscotta led the event with helpers Mrs George B Farnham and Mrs Beltran Crocker. Future meetings will be held twice yearly.

Horse killed when hit by auto in street collision
Two women riding in a two wheel gig escaped injury Wednesday of last week but the horse was killed. Miss Elizabeth Thomas Bowdeinham owner of the horse and Richmond were tossed from the gig when the horse and car driven by Ray Parker Bath collided. The horse was thrown 15 feet. Parker says the horse became frightened and jumped in front of the car. A state officer investigated.

Saturday crusade helps eliminate traffic troubles in Bath
City Marshal Joseph A. Butler and the Bath police department led a Saturday safety crusade against rude driving and jaywalking. A puppet show in front of City hall and a Shell Oil safety cruiser toured the streets, highlighting double parking and left turns from the wrong lane as traffic offenders. The event drew capacity crowds, with Judy the screwjay as the star, and officials praised the impact on smoother traffic flow in Bath.

Three Bath Family Injured in Maine Crash
Harry Moulton 81 of Bath and his daughter Mrs. Robert Coombs 52 and granddaughter Miss Eula Coombs of West Bath were treated at a Portland hospital for bruises and cuts after their car crashed into a tree at Scarboro when a tire blew out. Car passengers Coombs 16 and Nancy Coombs 12 were released after examination. The group was en route to the Maine Three-Quarter Century Club meeting at Old Orchard Beach, staying at the Harry Rich cottage off Berry's Mills road in West Bath.

Masonic Temple Damaged by Fire in Bath
Fire at the Masonic Temple in Bath caused heavy smoke and water damage mainly to the annex hall area. Chief Richard Frates said a painter's blowtorch started the blaze, which was fought with four water lines after four roof holes were cut. The main building sustained little smoke or water damage.

Boston man visits Bath during vacation break
