Edward L. Kenniston, 50, a Bath Iron Works steel worker and former Braves pitcher, sues the City of Bath for $1000 alleging false arrest after being held in City Hall cells from 9:30 p.m. Aug 6 to 11 a.m. Aug 7. The writ was issued Aug 17 and returnable at Sagadahoc Superior Court in October.

Popular Morse High student dies after Auburn car crash
Epocrat A Johns 17, son of Mr and Mrs Angelo Johns of North street court, died at Memorial hospital 8 55 a m Saturday from a fractured skull and other injuries after a late Friday accident two miles south of Auburn. In the sedan were Augustus Perow 18 and brothers Charles H Grace 20 and Joseph Grace Jr 18 all Morse High graduates. Johns was a standout basketball and baseball prospect, loved by classmates who found the crash startling. The group was traveling 35 to 40 mph when the car left the road and struck a banking on River road.

Sagadahoc Probate Court ruled Mrs Georgianna Blair aged 75 lacked testamentary capacity when she signed a will on September 23 1937 leaving about 5000 to Georgie Evelyn Young. The 1937 will is set aside and a 1937 will favoring cousin Miss Elizabeth Beal stands as the last will. The case was argued by Pattangall Goodspeed Williamson for Young and Bridgham Carey for Beal with Young set to appeal within 20 days.

Navy takes delivery of USS Sampson destroyer at Bath Yard
The 1850 ton destroyer USS Sampson was launched at Bath Iron Works on April 16 and officially turned over to the Navy at Boston Navy Yard at 3 p.m. Friday. She departed Bath at 6 a.m. and arrived in Boston before noon. The Monhegan race will feature boats Ursa and Praxilla among seventeen entrants, starting off Portland Headlight at 2.10 with three classes.
