The Bath Chronicle reports Mr Gurney's steam coach reached Melksham and Bath amid a mob, with two engineers seriously injured after stones were thrown. A Portland man was arraigned in Bowdoin and fined 300 plus costs for illegal transportation of intoxicating liquors and 100 plus costs for driving under the influence, appealing with 1000 dollar bond for Sagadahoc Supreme Court in October.

The Despatch of the Atlantic and West Indies squadron will reach Eastport harbor around Saturday September 14 then sail to the St. Croix river frontier waters and proceed to St Andrews New Brunswick to anchor for about nine days at the noted Canadian summer resort and seaport.
