Maine Golfers Upset at Tri State Match Play
The 12 man Maine team upset New Hampshire and Vermont in a two day competition at Bath. Dick Diversi led Maine with a 73 while Jim Jerome of Vermont posted 71 the best in the field. Maine’s Buck, Lebel, and Winchenbach also contributed strong scores as Bath hosted a clambake after play and next year’s event eyes Concord New Hampshire.

Bath boy honored at Detroit banquet
Terrance M. Carney son of Col and Mrs Harry B Carney was honored at a five hour Fisher Body Craftsman's Guild testimonial in Detroit for skill in design and craftsmanship in the annual model car competition. He was among 43 regional winners and narrowly missed a top university scholarship. Annual Exhibit Showcases City Playground Kids Creations
Several hundred visitors attended the city playgrounds annual handcraft exhibit at City Hall auditorium. Three Injured In Woolwich Auto Collision
Three people were hospitalized after a collision on Route One in Woolwich around 7 am. Cyrus Cody, Henry Albert Jr, and Richard G. Stubbert sustained injuries. Cody had a possible skull fracture and Albert required ten stitches. The crash occurred five miles from Bath when the Staples coupe struck another car and was deflected into Stubbert’s sedan.

Kadet wins permanent possession of Gov Sewall Trophy
