Remembrance of Popham Pier and Kennebec Steamer Visit
A nostalgic note recalls Popham Beach's long pier and the Kennebec steamer arriving from Boston. Captain James B. Perkins captured the river scene aboard the Percy V, which ran two round trips daily between Popham Beach and Bath. The piece reflects old Maine coast days when locals gathered to watch boats come in and say farewell to arriving friends.
