The Bath Canning Company operates at full capacity with about 150 women and 100 men employed over the last two weeks. Fresh herring arrives daily from Kennebec at 6 30 a.m. and 11 a.m. and is processed under sanitary conditions. Refuse is trucked to Portland for poultry feed. Melvin F. More Men Wanted to Complete Battery B Quota

Tax Money Pours Into Treasury At 25000 A Day Rate
Tax payments have surged to about 25000 daily for 18 days at the city treasurer’s office as residents rush to save two percent on taxes if paid by March 31. Since April 1 the city has taken in 468882.34 with 462564.65 collected in the last 18 days. Over 80 percent of taxes have been paid this year and an estimated 16 percent more may follow before the deadline. Taxes were due July 1 but must be paid by March 31.

German midget sub exhibited to public here
A two man German midget submarine, the See hund, captured in World War II, was shown today in front of the Post Office. Navy Club of U S A., Ben Morgan and Peter J.
