He has worked for Electric Boat Works for 22 years, a plant that has shut for a week as workers take time off. Arthur E. Hutchins Jr left Monday for Pascagoula Mississippi to work in a shipyard.
Sebasco reports a record season with 26 more rooms than in the past and bookings near capacity. Over 200 guests are present. the Lighthouse addition helped but did not meet demand. New gift shop and photography studio run by Russell Baird attract visitors as deep sea trips, sailing, and entertainments fill the resort schedule.

Guy Wright, former local boxer, pleaded guilty in municipal court to selling an automobile mortgaged to Brunswick finance. Judge Gardiner R. Deering ordered Wright held in $1.09 sureties to Sagadahoc Superior Court October term after arrest by the sheriff. A 20 year old Melrose waitress pleaded not guilty to trespass, was found guilty, and the warrant was filed. she was ordered to reach water for a swim through sheriff’s entry.
Winnegance church hosts a daily vacation Bible school from Monday to Friday except weekends. Sessions run at noon with Bible stories for children aged four to sixteen. Miss Alice Cromwell and Miss Gwendolyn Lewis lead the program, assisted by Miss Phyllis Coombs. the school closes August 11 with an exhibition.
Mrs Paul G Bagdikian entertained Genesta Sewing circle with a picnic at her Summer home on Tripp Lake. Guests included Mrs Thomas Aikenhead Mrs David Alkazin Mrs Edwin Pert and many others. Children Anita Paul Bagdikian Emma Hartleb Natalie Hathorne and Billy Smith attended.
Mr. and Mrs. Edward O. Cutler of Kew Gardens NY announce the July 27 New York City marriage of their daughter Alice Percy Cutler to Jack Benton Catron son of C C Catron a former New Mexico Supreme Court Justice. Mrs Catron a Horace Mann School graduate attended the University of New Mexico. She is granddaughter of Mrs Frank H Percy of Bath and her father was linked with Bath Iron Works Ltd.
First National Bank directors met Monday afternoon in the Davenport Trustees office in the municipal building to use the elevator service. Judge Arthur J. Dunton, vice president, traveled from West Bath to attend his first meeting since an illness. M. F. Brown died Monday in this city, Mass.
The Popham Beach Tennis Association drives new memberships with family and individual rates up to 250 and 150 dollars respectively. Improvements include court wiring surfacing and posted rules. Social events feature Harmonizers dance orchestra at Society Hall plus a popular clam chowder supper. Local residents and visitors arrive for vacations with many returning and extended stays.

Rev Dr Paul R Hickok and Mrs Hickok of Newark New Jersey visited Rev Dr and Mrs David L Wilson on Tuesday Dr Hickok ministers Forest Hill Presbyterian Church in Newark and spends part of his vacation in Maine He is Grand Sovereign of the Grand Imperial Council Knights of the Red Cross of Constantine Empire of the East Dr Wilson is Grand Imperial Sovereign of the Grand Council of Maine Red Cross of Constantine and welcomed him to the region.
