Couple Honored With 25th Anniversary Party

Mr and Mrs Nelson Gamage of Portland were guests at a dinner party Saturday honoring their 25th wedding anniversary hosted by Mr and Mrs Lyman Poole of Bath. The Pooles hosted a social evening at their home following dinner at the Stowe House Brunswick with many local guests and relatives in attendance. Mr Gamage, a special agent for Great American Insurance Co, is known in the Bath area.

Communion Breakfast Planned For St Marys Mothers Daughters

A Communion breakfast for all mothers and daughters of St Marys parish is set for Mother's Day May 10. Communion will be at 7 30 a m with organ by Mary Boudreau. Phippsburg and Woolwich Pupils Tour State House

About 75 seventh and eighth graders from Phippsburg and Woolwich County toured the State House as part of civics and Maine history studies. School buses carried the group. chaperones included Woolwich principal John McPhail and teachers Agatha Hatch Frances Harrington and George McPhail.

Edith Perkins Dies in Augusta Winter Visit

Mrs Edith Perkins of Augusta died last week while visiting her son Dr Earle B Perkins and wife. Funeral services were held in Bath with attendance from Cox's Head including C Harry Hannaford and Stanton C Dozois. Local residents shared visits and travels in the days following the death.

Cub Pack 57 Outing Features Diverse Saturday Activities

More than 65 participants attended Cub Pack 57's Saturday outing starting with a early breakfast and family hike. The event included a kite contest a mock Indian scalping demonstration a hot chocolate station and an outdoor graduation of three Webelos cubs. Five scouts led a five mile trail-marking hike past landmarks while games followed including tug of war and a mock raid. Three Webelos graduates Leverett Mitchell Thomas Farnham and Howard Mead joined the five graduating scouts Brian Rowe Robert Hunt Wayne Robbins Robert Lewis and Kenneth Patterson. Breakfast committee members were Carlton Pye Albert McMann Paul Berry Thomas Goodwin Everett Libby Ernest Haskell Richard Fullerton and Frank Harvie. Grace Church Buys Property on High Street

Grace Episcopal Church completed negotiations Monday to buy 927 High Street from Bath Realty Corp, the former Jennie Solovitch estate. The rectory will occupy 927 High Street while the adjacent building will house the church school this fall, with the 895 High Street rectory to be sold. Renovations will be led by Frederick E. Drake Jr and Eugene P. Eberhard. occupancy is expected within a month.
