Over 100 Bath Lodge of Elks members attended Old Timers Night at the Elks Home on Lombard Street Saturday with veteran members traveling from Pennsylvania and New Jersey to renew long-ago acquaintances. Local and charter members, past exalted rulers, and guests enjoyed a ham supper, remarks, and motion pictures of football games, boxing, and river scenes narrated by Maurice W. Libby.

Reckless driving trial after Brunswick road collision
Hubert E. Miller pleaded guilty in Brunswick Municipal Court to reckless driving after a Saturday night crash on Brunswick road near Hardings Crossing. Elwood N. Schuman pleads not guilty to armed robbery case
Clyde Schuman was arraigned in Municipal court on charges of armed robbery and automobile robbery. He pleaded not guilty and was ordered held in 2500 dollars surety on each charge for the June term of Sagadahoc Superior Court. The incident involved Ralph E. Legard, a taxi operator, who was robbed on Aug. 12, 1938, near Bath, Maine, after being directed to a route and forced to stop. The gunman took six dollars, then returned Legard’s watch with trousers but not his coat. Two days later Schuman and Prescott A. Creelman were arrested in Keene, New Hampshire, for a filling station break and later faced charges in Massachusetts. Schuman is said to have confessed to the Legard robbery.
