Rairden near Hang's Hill, killing the 70-year-old farmer. Dickinson, claiming she saw the elder man only after he stepped in front of her car, pleaded not guilty. The crash blocked by dense smoke from a nearby fire hindered visibility, with witnesses describing little time to react. Rairden, a blueberry patch hobbyist, lived alone near the Brunswick and Bay bridge roads and is survived by three brothers. Grass Fire Threatens Homes In City Yard
A grass fire believed started by sparks from a burning mattress spread from a neighbor yard toward the homes of Chester Newell at 73 Beacon Street Frank W. Lyon at 85 Beacon Street and John H. Williams at 114 Dummer Street. Fire alarm T12 sounded at 12 18 and Engine 2 responded by 12 45. Two hen houses on Newell’s property were burned, trees on Lyon’s land were endangered and a section of Williams’s fence was destroyed.

Governor Signs Resolve To Buy Bath Property
