Seguin Towboat Out of Service After Boiler Fire

Fires burned from under the Seguin’s boilers and she was hauled to Gibbons' wharf and placed out of service. Captain William G. Small, owner, has no immediate plan, having nearly completed sale details before a shipping board order blocked departure. The license expires April 2 and renewal is uncertain. Up river communities fear reduced towboat service on the Kennebec, with Augusta discussions already underway with James C. Hamlen to address summer needs.
