Morse High Coach Looks Ahead Amid School Sports Struggles
Cecil J. Cutts, Morse High athletic instructor, told Grace Church Men's club that lower entering ages and the elimination of ninth grade have left younger pupils less developed for strenuous sports. He cited diversions and limited practice fields as handicaps but remained hopeful about his current players and emphasized school loyalty and veteran reliance. A blackboard demo showcased strategy for football, baseball, and basketball, as members asked questions. The meeting included a Bath sports reminiscence and a letter from Henry H. Sandback in Chester, England discussing industrial and ecclesiastical matters. Light refreshments followed.

Bath Iron Works Dredges Mud Aft Of Corsair Launch Ways
At Bath Iron Works the yard accelerates work on J. P. Morgan’s Corsair as divers and tug Seguin dredge the river bottom behind the launching ways to prevent the bow from striking mud when the yacht leaves the ways. Divers work under water while dynamite blasts bring up fish as gulls feed nearby. A submerged concrete pier near the new dock is wired for stability to avoid obstruction to the Corsair’s bow. Large crews toil day and night as the project nears completion.
