The Bath city council approved the 1952-53 budget and indicated a one mill tax cut. The plan shows total anticipated revenue of 918 771 and a net $321 799 50 to be raised by taxation, excluding a $35 000 new school construction figure. The Charles A Eaton Co of Brockton will start a Richmond factory this spring employing 75 workers with expansion potential. Manufacturing will begin mid June in the former Durand Shoe factory, with renovation under way and Governor Payne praising the Maine Development Commission for bringing the plant to Richmond.

Veteran Wire Chief Larrabee to Retire After 37 Years
A retirement banquet honors longtime New England Tel and Tel employee Wilbur Larrabee a Bath area wire chief. He began in 1906 and served 37 years in the Wickford district with a diamond pin awarded last September. Presentations included plaques life membership and gifts from colleagues and Telephone Pioneers. Accompanists and a social dance followed the dinner.

Bath Rotarians and guests learned about the Coer Farm for Boys near New Gloucester, led by George W. Goodall of Portland. The farm, established by Portland and Maine citizens, has cared for over 1,000 boys since 1910 on a 265 acre Cumberland county site.
