Lively Bath Debate Over Water District Amendment
In sessions at the Bath area, legislators debated a bill to incorporate Bath Water District. Lisbon's Mr. Plummer urged an amendment to bar future profits from the Maine Water Co if Bath bought the plant, while Bath representatives Haraden Corliss argued for the original bill. The amendment failed 36 to 58, and the bill advanced to engrossment. Bath also passed an emergency clause involving a salary raise for the Bath municipal court recorder.
