Grangers urge prudence and balanced spending at Sagadahoc

Sagadahoc pomona met with Progressive Orange of Richmond urging Grangers to be prudent in investments for their children’s education while also spending for their own pleasure and that of their families. The gathering drew over 100 members, discussed dairy profitability, highway safety, poultry outlook, and plans for the organizations 50th anniversary with West Bath grange hosting on April 29.

City League ends season with turkey banquet and celebration

The four Y M C A City Basketball League teams Bath Iron Works Independents Hyde Windlass and Oakhurst Dairy gathered at Hotel Phoenix for a turkey banquet. Guests included league officials captains and players with speeches songs and humor marking the season and honoring Iron Works as champions.

College Flapper Makes Great Hit at Charity Play

The Morse high school auditorium hosted The College Flapper, a musical comedy raised to aid Kelley field. Cast included Charles F. Cummings as Jerry Watson, Lillian Miller as Jean, and Errol Baker as Dr. Seamore. The production drew large crowds, with choruses and a Baby pageant adding to the lively evening.

Two Bath Girls Honored At Lesley Kindergarten Cambridge

Miss Carolyn E. Turner, daughter of Mrs. Lulu H. Turner, elected president of the senior class at Lesley Kindergarten school in Cambridge Mass. She has served as treasurer and ushered at two commencements, sits on the student council, chaired the senior dance committee, and graduated Morse High with honors in 1928. Miss Marjorie P. Troop, daughter of Mrs. Arline P. Troop, also a third-year student, chairs the year book committee, led senior dance decorations, and was a member of the student council 1929-30. Both are among the youngest in their class and previously Morse High graduates in 1928.

Body of veteran machinist found in old shipyard

A citywide Bath search ended Tuesday morning with the discovery of George H. Hodgkins, 62, a retired machinist from 1 Washington street. Found near the Texas Steamship Co. shed, authorities ruled natural death from exposure. Evidence suggested wandering and a minor struggle, with personal items scattered nearby. Representative Henry C Wright Wins a Victory in the House

Representative Henry C Wright of Bath won a House victory Tuesday afternoon as his motion to substitute the medical and surgical treatment bill for the report prevailed 41 to 23. The stenographic report notes committee actions and state aid hospital reviews during the session.
