The Electric Light Co. has received and installed a new 1400 light capacity dynamo. It will be ready for operation in a few days and is expected to provide much stronger illumination than currently available in town.
An advertisement touts Green's August Flower as a remedy for dyspepsia liver complaints and indigestion claiming energy health and quick relief. It offers a free sample bottle at Baas' drug store and notes a regular size price of 75 cents along with Green's Special Almanac.
Henry Stratemeyer executor announces a court approved sale of Maria E Havekotte's interest in two acres in Batesville Ripley County Indiana. Sale at 2 PM March 29 1902 with terms: one third cash, balance in six and twelve months secured by mortgage, min bid two thirds of appraised value. Attorney G W Gelvin represents the estate.
Four year old Emily Schank broke her arm in two places after a fall from a wagon. Joseph Pfeiffer and Mary Baptisti married March 9 at the Kruse home near Ballstown with a festive reception and tin-pan band. Mrs H H Wonning Sr died at 70 years, leaving eight children. funeral held at Zeitz residence with large country attendance and Cross Roads burial pending.

Friday afternoon Henry Hooker ing sustained a severe injury at Greemanao Bros factory when a rip saw amputated his right thumb at the first joint and damaged the left palm. Dr. Timmerman treated the wounds in the plant.
Miss Elizabeth Prell invites all to the grand opening of her new millinery emporium in the Johnson building on Broadway. The event runs Thursday and Friday, March 20 and 21 with a large display of millinery goods in Batesville. Dr. E Timmerman traveled to Cincinnati for a cancer operation at Red Cross Hospital and will stay about two weeks for treatment and recovery.
Batesville Waterworks Co. leases belt around race track for 25 years at one dollar yearly. They will dig a 35 ft wide canal inside the track with a wider 100 ft section on the south, depth six feet, bottom six feet, sloped sides. Dirt used on the track. canal supplies waterworks. A pond for stock water also to be dug. Work to start immediately and finish by June 1, 1902. The fair association retains fish, rowing, and skating rights.
Smoke Schorrs Havanna Blossoms Remember Walsman sells forks rakes hoes and more. Latest sewing machines at Philip Boerstlers. Tony Romweber traveled to New Point on business Tuesday. Mrs Harry Canfield and Mrs Fred Meyer Sr both ill. We make picture frames to order. Local moves include Mr Boyd relocating to Sherman House and William Foerster with wife moving into his former residence.
Mrs. Chas. Applegate of Alexandria Indiana endured near sleepless nights from severe coughing and bloody spit due to consumption. After other medicines failed, three bottles of Dr King’s New Discovery at one dollar each cured her and she gained 48 pounds. Trial bottles are free at Baas’ drug store.
The Republican townships Adams and Jackson hold mass meetings on March 15 to select delegates and alternates to state and joint conventions. Adams meets Spades at 1 p m for State and Joint Senatorial gather at Madison March 22. Jackson meets Napoleon school house at 2 p m for state, congressional and Joint Senatorial delegations. Smoke Shorts Pride of Cuba seeds and a new bicycle line with supplies are offered by Walsman and P Boerstler respectively. Portland cement priced at 3.25 at Keepsie Bros. Mrs. Snedaker and child visit in Newpoint while Bartholomew Weiss travels to Cincinnati. A large spring dress goods line and trims are marketed. several local residents attend the Wonning funeral.
Letters addressed to Ellis Ewing D McCallum P M will be sent to the dead letter office in Washington DC if not called for by March 31 1902.
A local notice urges staying home and using Chamberlain’s Cough Remedy to prevent grip complications. It claims extensive use with no reported pneumonia cases. The piece also reports a St Clair public school room No 6 entertainment at St Clair’s hall, well attended and near one hundred dollars in receipts.
The Republican Central Committee of Laughery township says it has not authorized any convention to elect delegates for the Joint Senatorial Convention at Madison on March 22. Laughery is entitled to three delegates and three alternates. attendees may travel via boat from Lawrenceburg the night before and arrive in Madison the next morning.
Mehlon the tailor conducts scouring and promotes lawn grass seed at Walsman s for 10c a box. John Jaeger visits Greensburg, Kitselman displays woven wire fence at Walsman s, and KE H Rogers of Greensburg travels on business. A second hand buggy and harness is for sale via Chas E Diehl. Benz Bros ship hogs and cows to Cincinnati. Mrs Fred Meyerrose of Indianapolis, formerly of this place, visits friends. Greemann Wilker Co promotes silks and waistings with special values. Mrs Jennie Hodapp and daughter go to Cincinnati to visit relatives. Catechism exam at St John s church Huntersville scheduled for next Sunday at 2 PM.
