Two Farmers Die In Bridge Accident After Storm
Two farmers, John Stevenson and Daniel Morris, died when their wagon with hogs plunged from an unguarded Sand Creek bridge during a thunderstorm near Greensburg. Morris is survived by a widow and 15 year old daughter. Stevenson leaves a widow and five children. Morris’ funeral was at Salem Church. Stevenson’s at Greensburg. An apron bazaar and ice cream social are planned at St Clair's hall for August 17. Louis Baas and family will move into a new residence opposite the St Clair grove this week.

Severe fall as pony rider avoids worse injury on Broadway
Lon Yandell was thrown from his pony after a fast train whistled, sliding thirty feet on a concrete sidewalk before tumbling onto grass. He suffered bruised left knee hip and arm plus a facial cut but no bone fractures or internal injuries. He was treated at Mehlon’s shop and stayed at the Sherman house.

Sneak Thieves Steal Rings Pin and Pants in Town
Last Saturday night a thief or thieves entered William Greemann’s home and took four rings, an heirloom pin, and up to thirty cents from Mrs. Greemann’s large purse. A five dollar bill and a smaller sum were left. Nearby, John Hancock’s pants vanished from the bedroom but were later found in the hall with about four dollars missing. Tracks across the dust suggested a single man. Neighbors noted two women on the opposite curb seemingly guarding the scene. No recoveries reported.
