The body of Pearl Davis, a former Russell teacher, arrived home to her parents' farm south of town. She fell seriously ill two weeks earlier, underwent an operation at King's Daughters Hospital in Ashland, and died despite skilled care. William Wagner died Wednesday evening after a two year struggle with consumption. At thirty five he leaves a widow, five children, his parents, one sister and five brothers. Services were held at home Saturday morning and burial followed at St. Marks cemetery.

Church Displays Patriotism at Germin M I Church Liberty Bond Drive
In Germin M I church last Friday a watch night service marked the eve of the third Liberty Loan launch. Will J. Gelvin chaired the drive and delivered a patriotic address. Subscriptions poured in with the church buying a $100 bond and a total of 7,550 received in five subscriptions.
