Oil Field Boom Expands Near Basin North of Wyoming

After Big Game in Garland for Jackson Hole hunt

W H Baker Ted Miller and Clint Bird left Sunday for Garland to outfit for the Jackson Hole country where they expect to kill three or four dozen elk. Prod Hildebrand, wife of Doug, visited this week with ids who olw, T 8, Pexton, of the instructional. Mr. Hilderand and bride are on their honeymoon and will return to Douglas to make their home.

Big Horn County Dominates State Fair Exhibits

Big Horn County swept all major prizes at the state fair in Douglas. A telegram from Col. W. H. May urged a full sweep, and W. Collins reported strong showings by the county's agriculture and horticulture displays. County boosters celebrated, confident they put Horn County on the map as they returned from Douglas.

Bryan Speaks at Basin Campaign Rally in 1900s

W. J. Bryan spoke in Basin on a special train from the south, addressing audiences in Basin Creybul and Lovell with John D. Clark and local chairman JA Berry present. He delivered a standard speech aimed at party unity, while attendees noted a tepid reception and mixed enthusiasm. The day included nearby developments in town buildings, a new lodge installation in Lovell, and various social events at the Basin Woman's Club gathering.

Clean Sweep On All Fruit Exhibits at State Fair

Douglas Wyoming September 29 state fair closed with record crowds and vast exhibits. Aviator Baxter Adan entertained amid weather warnings as Big Horn county led with top prizes, over 150 firsts for potatoes and fairs, earning the banner county title and boosting future advertising value.

Oil Land Withdrawn in Wyoming Oil Field

Washington reports the Interior Department withdrew 130000 plus acres of the Big Muddy oil field in Wyoming. The move caps a pattern aimed at halting wildcat drilling and discouraging development to keep Wyoming from becoming an oil producer.
