Violation of Alleged Oil Lease Contract Filed in Basin District Court
A Basin district court suit filed this morning seeks 15000 from W L Valentine and Chas E Orchard by RB West BC Hart R H Ahrens and C H Fitzpatrick over an alleged Feb 19 1914 oil lease deal for 2 1 2 percent royalty on oil produced. Plaintiffs say no such royalty was paid and the case may go to trial next month.

Big Horn County Fair Breaks Attendance and Record Crowds
The Big Horn County Fair drew the largest crowds in Basin history over three days with ideal weather. Attendance on Wednesday set a record, and Thursday rivaled it. three days reported receipts near 6900 dollars with about 1000 dollars net after expenses. Events included free shows, dances, and an agricultural display, plus a ball game and a wild horse race. Governor Kendrick spoke on roads and state cooperation for roads and a November resolution.

Two Parades During Fair Spark Largest In Country
The Tuesday program closed with rough riding by former world champion Sam Scoville delivering a sprint from the south end of the track past the grand stand. The fair featured two parades described as the largest and best ever seen in this country.

Parades Wednesday and Thursday drew large crowds along a route through Basin, with many floats and local groups acknowledged for prizes and crowd-pleasing costumes.

Wyoming Arrest of Noted Horse Thief George Brown
Officers in Wyoming captured George Brown who they believe leads a Montana Wyoming gang in horse theft. He stole four team from Clarks Fork country, sold them to J. H. Welsh in Basin, then fled to Thernopolis and Casper before being stopped en route to the Union Pacific. Sheriff Wickwire traced him and Natrona County Sheriff aided the capture. Brown faces trial in Cody for Park County offenses.
