F B Peebles of Burlington swelled the crowds at the fair on Wednesday. An official program listed events for the day including a parade at 400 o'clock a m a band concert a Texslope dash races and a reel of shows and pictures as part of the ball game of the year event.
The big ball game at ten in the morning will decide the winner of the 2200 chase. Narration notes players Jones and Wilson with Maain on the field and other listed players expected to perform. Ade Miller of Seattle is noted as a representative in the Pacific interest escalating visitor engagement.
Friends say St Salis bury lost money on Wednesdays ball game and plans to win back his money at the county fair this afternoon. He will have his feet put through a canvas on the fairgrounds and attendees may guess his weight. incorrect guesses cost a small fee to participate.
Basin edged Manderson in a close Wednesday contest as momentum shifted late. Manderson, plagued by misfortune, saw a promising lead slip away and Basins held on for a hard earned victory in a heart pounding finish.
A town parade started at 1:30 pm Wednesday from Bills livery, with Un der Sheriff Frank Rue as guard, the Tensleep band, an Indian wagon, braves on hearses, pioneer wagons and women, old autos, floats from water works to local stores, a corn wagon, farm displays, and Company D closing under Captain C. W. G. Dodge.
Leslie Davidson editor of the Hudson Miner, visiting the Basin fair, lauds the agricultural display. He says the alfalfa palace exhibits are the best ever seen, surpassing many he has witnessed before.
Grandpa Tillard of Basin Gardens brought to this office a branch from a plum tree bearing several hundred plums and showing remarkable quality in the Big Horn Basin.
Dr G A Harris returned Wednesday from Cowley where he assisted Dr Croft in operating on the eight month old daughter of William Pinkard for strangulated hernia. The operation was a success and the child is rapidly recovering.
