Exhibits and events mark palace day parade schedule

Exhibits are in place at the palace with a Ten Sleep band concert at 0 am and a Mendelson vs Basin ball game in the afternoon as part of a two game series for a $200 purse. A grand parade will form at Mills Livery at 1:00 pm headed by the band, followed by a procession through principal streets with many floats described as very notable.

Attempted Hold Up at Thermopole Hotel Basement

A Tuesday morning robbery attempt at the Thermopole Hotel ends when a bandits armed with a gun flee after being spotted by a watchdog and a deputy and three men are arrested at Washakie hotel. Two horse pumpkins arrive at the fair with three men needed to move one pumpkin.

Manderson Loses First Game in the Big Prize Series

The Greybull Cubs beat Manderson 8 to 6 on Tuesday at the fair grounds in the opening game for the $2300 prize. Umpires C. D. Markham and RH. Ewart gave satisfaction. Uncle Jim Hurst celebrated the Cubs win while expressing strong hopes for future games as plans for a transcontinental auto road discussion continues in the press.

Birth of Carl Armeling’s daughter at Basin Hospital

A fine daughter was born to Mr and Mrs Carl Armeling on Monday evening at Basin Hospital. Dr Chester Harris reports mother and child doing well. Papa Carl wears a happy smile this week.

Record First Day Attendance At Big Horn County Fair

Tuesday opened the Big Horn County Fair with the largest first day attendance in its history as more visitors paid for grounds than ever before. Quiet week so far with police noting little activity and Marshal Jack Hanlen ready to use a new billy. J C Norris placed high in the Denver amateur shoot last week, after losing 17 of 500 birds at 16 yards and failing to win money due to a disputed payout situation.

Funeral of Mrs Freeman Held Tomorrow at 10

The funeral of Mrs. Clara Freeman will be held tomorrow at 10 o clock from the residence of Mrs. M J Freeman. Services will be under the auspices of the Order of the Eastern Star of Walch. the deceased was a member.

Manderson and Basin Meet in 200 Prize Game at Fairgrounds

The Manderson and Basin teams meet in the second game of the series for a 200 prize today at 10 o'clock at the fair grounds. The lineup lists Beall and F Voss on the mound, Wiley, Custer, and Jacobs among infielders, with Hoffmam and Frisby in the outfield, and several others slated to play.
