Baptist minister charged with assault in Edna Barnett case

County and prosecuting attorney filed a district court complaint charging Rev J L Taylor of the Baptist Church with assault and battery on Edna Barnett with intent to ravish. Taylor bonded for $1000 and appeared before District Clerk R H Ahrens. The incident date is late last month at a residence in Greybull.

Chamber of Commerce Directors to Be Elected Next Wednesday

Basin citizens organize a progress club with a seven member board to manage affairs. Membership costs one dollar, dues begin January 1. Next Wednesday a nomination and ballot will select directors. the board may hire a secretary and set officers.

Mr and Mrs H H Hine and Mrs R H Ahrens visited Germania beach last Sunday and dined at J Adam Pries home. Hine noted generally fine crops on the bend a crop of excellent apples and fruits. Sheriff Wickwire installed Frank Christianson of Cowley as Under Sheriff replacing Rue roagnold. Christianson brings prior deputy experience in the county north end and starts this week.
