The county ticket shows a mixed slate with Kendrick and Rog Majority emerging amid shifting support. Voters signal uncertain alignment as campaign activity intensifies across local towns and rural precincts.
Unofficial Big Horn County results show Kendrick carrying the county by 617 and Ross by 215. Full ticket wins include Ruth Rhodes for county treasurer and Zela Murphy re-elected clerk. U.S. Senate Mondell leads Kendrick. Governor race favors Hay over Ross with 1899 to 1999 in county results.
Early returns show governors and senators, with Alabama’s W. W. Brandon leading as a Democrat, Arizona’s G. W. P. Hunt as Democrat, California’s P W Richardson as Republican, and Colorado’s Benjamin Griffith as Republican leading. Other results pending.

Republicans secure control of Congress with at least 218 seats. Iowa stands as a solid Republican delegation. Wheeler wins Montana senate seat. Reed prevails in Missouri. California Idaho Illinois also go Republican. Ohio elects Republican senator and Democratic governor. Beveridge defeated in Indiana by 35,000. Brookhart carries Iowa by over 100,000.
Park County results show Mondell 1184 Kendrick 1232 Hay 1145 Ross 1219. Jas Rosseau county clerk W H Loomis sheriff P B Markham county commissioner elected. Hot Springs largely Republican and Democratic ticket split. Washakie Republican sweep except sheriff and one commissioner. Sheridan Democrats sweep except county clerk treasurer and one legislative candidate with George Harding defeated for justice.
Monday marked the 20th wedding anniversary of Rev. and Mrs. Edwin Howling. The congregation gathered that evening to honor the couple and enjoyed a pleasant, memorable time.
Justice Bonwell joined John Kin nick and Mrs Alice Dobson in marriage Saturday at his office. Kin nick has lived in Montana twenty years as a rancher and stock grower while the bride has resided five miles west of Burlington for over twenty years. They will live on the bride’s ranch in that area. The couple are well known in the upper Greybull valley and friends wish them happiness.
At the courthouse on Tuesday afternoon Thomas F. Hamilton and Miss Mabel Gregory were married by Justice Bonwell. They were accompanied by A N Stricker and Carrie Sarver of Greybull. They will reside in Greybull with many friends wishing them joy.
Ruth Rhodes thanks Big Horn County voters for their support in the recent election. She praises friends who stood by her and expressed loyalty when needed.
Early returns indicate party lines across the United States with several states naming Democratic candidates such as Ahhurst Trammel Reed Pepper Copeland McKellar Mayfield and Republican contenders including Johnson Connell Brookhart Lodge Feas as and Bamberger. Outcomes vary by state with some races still in doubt and fragmentary returns pending.
Polls list state by state results with party labels for candidates including Vermont Greene Republican and Virginia Swanson Democrat. Other states show Dill leading Poindexter Republican Neely leading Sutherland Republican LaFollette Republican Kendrick Democrat.
Mrs Frank Hepburn hosted a birthday dinner in Greybull last Friday honoring Mrs Armstrong and Mr Hepburn. A four course meal featured chrysanthemums as the centerpiece. Guests included Mr and Mrs Thos M Hyde R L Silver T K Bishop and Earl Armstrong. Bridge followed the meal and gifts were exchanged.
The Baptist church ladies will serve a chicken dinner tomorrow evening at Fraternity Hall from 5 30 to 8 30 p m. Mrs J H Hanlon says it will be the finest dinner yet and patrons are expected to support the event on Armistice Day.
Walter Severy died suddenly at his Basin home on a Sunday morning from heart disease. Born in Reading Kansas on September 11 1883 he was 89 years old at death. He lived in Wyoming since 1902 and worked in sheep farming before moving to Basin. He married in 1910 and left a son and a daughter, plus his mother and siblings. Funeral services were held in the Christian Science church and were followed by interment in Emporia Kansas. The family is mourned by many friends in Basin and the Republican extends condolences.
An obituary style notice expresses gratitude for floral offerings and assistance from friends and groups including the Ma sons American Legion Rev Bow ling and the Christian Scientists for a family at a trying time. It also announces the Presbyterian Sunday School meeting at the Carnegiebrary at 10 A M with an election of officers and requests all members to attend.
The Episcopal guild held a bazaar dinner and dance at Fraternity hall on election night with large attendance and a good time reported.
Storm disrupts results as over a hundred precincts remain uncounted west of Cheyenne. Early tallies show Kendrick leading Mondell with a substantial margin, Ross ahead of Hay, and Republicans carrying state offices and Congress. Maverick votes in Big Horn County expected to exceed sixty and be canvassed next Tuesday.
The Woman's club expresses gratitude to teachers Misses Gygax and Whitmore and many volunteers who organized the Halloween parade and school activities. Donations came from J A Berry and B P Wigton, with local businesses lending space and equipment.
Frank Barth announced election returns at the Rex theatre with a special wire service from Western Union. The Democrat committee held an open house in the old Gohn stand on election night.
