Sweeping Victory Across County and State Election

Voters in Big Horn county rebuked the local Democratic ring with a Republican sweep. Mondell led Basin with 88 votes, Germania delivered a first for Republicans. county clerks and officials mostly voted Republican while several precincts withholds show the trend statewide. Amendment No. 1 passed decisively with Basin dry and statewide support strong.

Venison Dinner Hosted by Judge After Big Horn Hunt

Judge P. W. Meaz who just returned from a deer hunt in the Big Horns hosted a venison dinner at the Markham last Friday evening for bar and court officers. Attendees included R. B. Landfair W. C. Snow B. H. Smith C. A. Zaring Gilmore Hartigan Guy Brill R. B. West Frank I. Rue B. F. Wickwire J. R. Bonwell of Basin T. C. Marshall Edward H. Ellis of Greybull and Frank A. Little of Lovell. The guests enjoyed the meal and expressed hope for success on this week’s elk hunt.

Red Cross Notes Honor Roll Listings for Cheyenne Basin

Cheyenne and Basin are on the honor roll for the home service section. Basin committee members include Mrs J F Ewers chair. Landfair. F A Wise. Thos M Hyde. Dr M H Smith. Seven boxes of hospital and refugee garments sent to HQ last week. 225 sweaters and 200 pairs of socks shipped. Urge all with sweaters on hand to send them in. Charles Edward English dies Sunday night at the Red Cross Hospital after influenza. He had worked in various parts of the county herding sheep. Relatives in Michigan wired to bury him there.

Robert Steele sixteen son of Robert Steele Worland died at Mexico Missouri where he was attending school from influenza. The remains were brought to Worland on Wednesday and Wm. Gibson traveled from Casper to Casper? to meet Mr. Steele and return the body.

Warren Dailey joyously welcomed a son announced at Basin hospital following Germany’s surrender. Wife and child are reported to be doing finely.
