Memorial day services to be held in G A R post program

Tomorrow Memorial day services are planned by General C. O. Howard Post Colorado and Wyoming G A R. The post hall will host events at 10 a m with a parade to Fraternity hall by 11. events include prayers readings addresses by Hon. E Skovgard and Gen John A Logan, tolling bells at noon, and a parade to the cemetery with Lincoln address readings songs and benediction.

Ridgely Seen as Sure Republican Governor Nominee

The Cheyenne press announces Hon. H. B. Ridgely, former Big Horn Basin resident and U S district attorney, as a Republican candidate for governor. Endorsed for statewide appeal, Ridgely’s record includes convicting Montgomery in the white slavery case, boosting party principle, and drawing broad support across the state. If nominated in August, election seems assured. Ridgely to enter race with strong local backing. The Methodist ladies will meet Mrs. D A Null on Thursday June 4. all members invited.

Prominent sheepman A C Dent believed drowned at Greybull

A C Dent, about 47, English born and longtime Wyoming sheepman, allegedly drowned after a Wednesday morning incident on the Big Horn river at Greybull while buying wool. He was seen entering the water by witnesses and has not been found. Dent, who had recently run a Thermopolis Keystone hotel and worked as a wool buyer, left a widow and child, with a brother and sister also named in the report. Mrs Dent traveled from Thermopolis to assist in recovery efforts.

Armstrong Blodgett nuptials in Casper celebrate union

Sim Armstrong and Helen Blodgett wed at Casper on Wednesday with Archdeacon Dray officiating. The groom, long known in Basin, will reside here with his bride who recently taught in Casper public schools. Guests cheer the couple as they begin life together amid local congratulations. A note of mystery surrounds the missing ice cream at the senior junior class gathering earlier in the week.

School Entertainment at Fraternity Hall Tonight

Pupils of the grammar school present a program in Fraternity Hall tonight. An admission of 1.560 will be charged for the picture fund. The lineup includes motion songs, recitations, readings, dances, pantomimes, and a diploma presentation by Mabel Alleat, with performances from Second through Seventh Grades and a Male Quartette.

Night class riots haunt quiet back porch

The theft of cream led to Julian Snow and other second year students being seized by upperclassmen, confined overnight, and marched to school.
