The Basin Woman's club adjourned for summer after a business session during which officers were chosen for the ensuing year. Death of Dwight Leighty
Dwight Leighty fourteen year old son of Mr and Mrs J F Leighty died at Basin hospital after an appendicitis operation followed by complications. He was popular and diligent in his studies. Funeral held Thursday at 10 am at the family home with Rev Frank J Medford and two other ministers officiating. Classmates and teachers attended. pallbearers named. Remains moved to Montpelier Freemont Illinois for interment. The community expresses sympathy to the family.

Eight grade closing exercises at Fraternity hall Friday
The Eighth grade closing exercises will be held this Friday evening at Fraternity hall. A pro gram has been prepared. The third annual commencement of Big Horn County High School will occur in Fraternity hall next Wednesday evening May 29 at 8 30. The sermon will be preached at the Methodist church Sunday evening by Rev Morten Joan. A cordial invitation is extended to the public to attend these exercises.

Killed in Copper Mountain Mine In Gas Incident
Word arrives that Thos. Smith Wm. Horn and Joe John Anderson were killed in a tunnel at the Williams Luman mine on Copper Mountain. Smith allegedly sent Horn and Anderson to shut down a gasoline engine. upon not returning, he entered the tunnel and died shortly after. Bodies sent to Shoshoni. All three men are prominent in the Basin.

Rossiter elected superintendent at Lander Wyoming
Superintendent EH B Rossiter was unexpectedly elected to lead Lander schools for the coming year after a telegram summoned him to conference with the board. Lander, a Wyoming town of about 2000 people, features a new high school building costing 25000 dollars and a grammar school slated for summer overhaul. The high school enrollment stands at 100 with the grammar school at 60.
