Oil tests eyed as geologists eye Basin field

Warland Wins Trophy In County School Contests
The first annual Big Horn Basin field meet capped a school contest week with Worland taking top honors. In declamatory events Ernest Clark led oration, Elsie Perry won humorous, Vivian Hays claimed dramatic, and Harold Pond topped music. Track events at the fair grounds saw Worland win with 44 points, Basin second, Thermopolis third, Powell fourth, Cowley fifth, Greybull sixth, and Lovell seventh. Individual winners included Leslie Greggist and Chas. Harkins, both Worland, with a string of event by event champions across Basin Thermopolis Powell and Cowley. The meet inspired school spirit and promises a bigger turnout next year.
