Big Horn Theatre Sold to Colorado Partners

G H Ellicott of Longmont Colorado and his son in law H H Chopper bought the Big Horn theatre from Otto Schmf. The new proprietors took possession May 1 and will keep the former policy of quality pictures and entertainment. June Nichol remains in charge. Bilicott toured the region and chose Basin as the best location, predicting Basin and Big Horn county will become a regional metropolis.

Oil Deal Set to Drill Between Antelope and Elk Creeks

A major oil project between Antelope and Elk creeks near Basin moves to active drilling. J M Schwoob of Cody leads efforts with Senator Beck and Sen Schwoob guiding capitalists from Pennsylvania and Oklahoma. Dr J VonHagen expects promising prospects on about 3000 acres of patented land.

Modern Heating and Ventilating System To Be Built

The annual school meeting discussed financing a modern heating plant to replace stoves and improve air. The board will install the system from the outside on the west side at about 3500 dollars, to allow all rooms to be used and will also add a ventilating room. The meeting also authorized purchasing six adjacent play ground lots for 800 dollars, expanding grounds for tennis, basketball, baseball, and a race track, with the Woman's club contributing equipment funds.

Card of thanks expresses gratitude to those who helped during the illness and death of a child. Mr and Mrs Oscar Robertson acknowledge support. A baby boy was born to Mr and Mrs W W Chris man weighing 9 pounds on Wednesday afternoon and all are doing well.

Delegates Chosen At Basin Republican Convention

Big Horn county Republicans met at Basin to select ten delegates to Cheyenne for the state convention. C J Williams presided as county chairman and after discussion the delegates named were A Zaring, B C Hart, J Skovgard, E J Sullivan, N A Paddock, Albert Olson, E Marion Willis, J H Neville, A S Mercer Jr, J H Montgomery and R B Weet as alternates. Several committee members attended, including N A Paddock and A S Mercer. Mr and Mrs T E Pexton arrived from Nebraska and will stay at the Markham House until their home is ready. Mrs W P Keys of Buffalo will visit the Collins home.
