HH W Baxert head miller of the Big Horn Milling Co left Monday for a two week vacation at his ranch near Upton Wyoming. His wife and children accompany him and he has taken four homesteads totaling 160 acres, now being improved into fine shape.

Allen's Horse Sale Success at Miles City event

Gus Allen reported strong turnout from Miles City and Basin country for his horse and milch cow sale. Prices at the forenoon sale ranged 45 to 75 dollars with solid bidding. Afternoon at the stock yards drew the largest crowd and many bargains were snapped up by judges of horse flesh. Notables Wella, Jones, Col. Cropsey and W J Both took part. a fine pair of sorrel and gray mares sold for 377.50 dollars. A E B Lewis and D Maury were among buyers.

The Methodist Calend ar Coterie met at Mrs. F A Wise for a unique program and lunch. Mrs Fisher Mrs Collins Mrs Simpson and Mrs Shipman assisted. Duets by Miss Patten and E C Hoover featured a piano piece An Irish Melody. Mrs Fisher spoke on St Patrick life and Mrs Collings on The Birthday of St Patrick. W E Morris flockmaster of the upper country visited the Diamond City horse sale yesterday. He was accompanied by his son in law J H Parkhurst. They left today for home as Morris moved his sheep from the lower Nowood to the upper country.

A. F. Ellison of Burlington came over yesterday to take the teachers' examination. He is a rancher in that section and says that all farmers there are ready for the water when it is turned into the ditches.

Mr. and Mrs. R. B. Rath of Shell arrived in Basin yesterday. He attended the horse sale while she did some shopping with Basin merchants, and reports indicate he has fully recovered from his rheumic illness.
