The Pioneer bank will be converted into First National Bank of Basin occupying the corner room and the rest leased for other business. Markham House changes hands as H M Sheive of Denver and Mrs. Margaret Leitch of Thermopolis take over. The former owners retire but remain residents.

Moving Cattle Feeders Return to Home Ranches
Sen Geo B McClellan and Char lie Wells of the upper Nowood country have been wintering several hundred head of cattle in Otto country and began moving them to home ranches this week. The cattle are in excellent condition. Feeding livestock in the Greybull valley is poised to grow into a major industry as hay and water are plentiful and beet byproducts will boost future beef production in the west.

Death of Mrs. Schneider in Camerton England native dies after illness
Mrs Wm Schneider died at her home last Tuesday morning after a prolonged illness. Funeral services were held at the home by the Christian Science church led by Mrs D E Lewis, with interment in the local cemetery. Alice Bertha Lintern, born in Camerton England 33 years ago, came to the United States three years ago after marrying Mr Schneider. She leaves her husband and no other close kin in England. The community extends sympathy to the family. Wm Kemp and family left for Los Angeles last Thursday where they will reside. Kemp and his son were well regarded in Basin and Worland in their former positions.

Bank Changes Put Pexton, Lee in Control of Pioneer Bank
T Pexton of Nebraska is installed as cashier and, with Arthur K. Lee of Thermopolis State Bank, has purchased the interests of B C Hart and others, giving new management full control. Lee will frequent Basin to oversee affairs as a new bank building project begins, with plans to move in after completion and continue local business development in the Big Horn Basin. Hart plans to remain until the new management is fully in touch, and may stay active in local affairs.

County approves two Big Horn bridges near Kane and Rairden
At a county board meeting bids were opened for two steel and concrete bridges over the Big Horn near Kane and Rairden. J A Crook of Monarch Engineering won both contracts totaling about 17000 dollars. The Kane bridge will connect beet stock lands to the railroad, boosting beet growth and local revenue. The Rairden crossing will aid west-side beet lands and improve transport for farmers.

Sheriff and deputy chase thief near Worland arrest Pete McDonald
Sheriff Abe Kent and Under Sheriff Frank Rue pursued Pete McDonald last Wednesday after he stole tents belting and other articles from the Big Horn Canal company near Worland. McDonald fled with his wife and children through the hills before being captured and jailed that evening. His family remained at a Worland hotel until Kent returned them there on Thursday.

Bean Contracts Bring Growth to Basin Bean Market
M A Randel, active in eastern market bean contracts, visited Worland this week and told a Republican representative he would secure about 600 acres under contract. The company pays four cents per pound and provides sacks. If successful, acreage will grow next year. Basin beans reputed for high quality, with expansion planned away from rail routes. A J Church, formerly of Hyattville, shipped 66 cattle from Manderson to Billings last Tuesday for distribution elsewhere.
