Boycott urged as Basin mills clash over Challenge flour

The Big Horn Basin Progress Association in Greybull debated boycotting Sheridan flour to protect the Basin milling interest. A plan to educate and advertise Basin flour, plus appoint a secretary for regional promotion, was approved. Delegates urged local merchants to support Challenge flour amid price cuts by Sheridan mill.

New Big Horn Basin Print Plant Installed Last Week

A carload of new machinery arrived at the Republican office, including a large press, job presses, a folder, and new type. The upgrade, overseen by B R Matteson, enabled printing at 1,800 papers per hour and promises improved service for the Diamond City region. Young Boys Under Arrest Near Manderson Train Escape

Vic. Wilson and Wilber Robinson arrested Wednesday afternoon for alleged thefts from a sheep camp near Manderson. Youths 15 or 16 jumped a stock train northbound toward Greybull, were chased by Under Sheriff Cusack and captured near Basin after a high speed escape. They were found armed with six shooters and rifles and the haul included barber shears, comb, razor, mouth harps, carridges, prunes, tobacco, sugar, tea, honey and cocoa. Prosecuting Attorney West to file informations. likely to be held for the next term of court.

The Republican prints a new gas engine replacing a failing unit to power the press, with faster operation and sale of the old engine.

Spratts Return From Thermopolis Trip

R. W. Spratt and his son R. W. Spratt returned from a visit to Thermopolis. The son is assistant cashier at Basin State Bank and traveled for his health.
