School Girl Wins $1050 Damages in Auto Injury Case

District court jurors awarded a school girl from Liberty Beach $1060 after she was struck by a car driven by Eugene Praetor while leaving the school bus near her home. The trial concluded Sunday with the verdict for the plaintiff.

Basin Woman's Club Minutes Include Supplies Request

Basin Woman's Club met at the library with President Mrs. W. B. Hartigan presiding. Minutes approved, members voted to add cups and silver spoons to the kitchen supply. Mrs. A. B. Martin and Mrs. James O'Neil were appointed to confer with the house committee. The program featured American Folk Songs with Milas Winifred Patten as chairman and discussions on Folk Songs, Changing the American Notes in Music, and Stephen Collins Foster as songwriter.

Republican precinct committeemen of Big Horn County are requested to meet in Basin tomorrow to discuss matters before the state organization for the coming campaign. A number of state party executive officers will attend, making the gathering well attended.

Motion for New Trial in Lampitt Case

Attorneys for Albert Lampitt convicted in the Grass Creek explosion move for a new trial claiming the judge erred 21 times. Alleged errors include jury panel bias over female list, trial continuance denial, suppressed defense testimony on an autodobile sighting, suppressed testimony about Worley Seaton and Pettus, improper instructions, and not instructing manslaughter verdict options. The motion precedes a supreme court appeal.

Inspectors inspect Riorden bridge approach amid ice removal

County commissioners Johnn Weintz and C. A. Welch with P. P. Anderson visited the Riorden neighborhood Wednesday to view work saving the bridge approach as the ice cleared. The bridge is the state’s longest single span at 250 feet, and dynamite was used to break up heavy ice nearby.

L. Be Monroe of Hyattville died in Hyattville last Sunday. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon led by Rev. Harvey of the Methodist Church.

Wyoming Automotive Association Holds Regular Meeting

The Wyoming Automotive Association met Monday evening March 6 at the Chamber of Commerce rooms with M. G. Wild as president and J. A. Carlson vice president. Officers present included H. B. Paris secretary and Frank Brigham treasurer. trustees Cros George Frank E. Brigham C S Robertson and J F Dawson. A banquet followed at the Yellowstone Cafe and plans to expand membership statewide were discussed. The next meeting is set for Thermopolis on Saturday March 18 at 3 30 p m with an open invitation to nonmembers.

A jury failed to decide stallion ownership last week and the court will place the horse with the clerk of court pending a final determination. Officials extend sympathy to John Landfair and advertise the horse on the courthouse bulletin board.

Basin Teams Sweep With Two Big Wins Last Night

Basin won two basketball games last night. The frat team defeated Thermopolis 61 to 15 and the second team beat Burlington 6 to 5.

The funeral for William Gibson was held Sunday at 2 30 p m at the residence with Rev Edwin Bowling officiating.
