Large Tanks Erected At Greybull By Local Oil Firms

Greybull and Big Horn Oil & Gas hire Petroleum Iron Co of Sharon Pa to erect two 37 000 gallon tanks at Greybull and eight hundred barrel tanks east of their wells. Construction uses 53 000 feet of pipe and should take one to six weeks as piping begins for market.

Presbyterian church hosts chicken pie supper fundraiser

The ladies of the Presbyterian church held a chicken pie supper in Jones bulking on Tuesday. They prepared a fine meal and the attendance showed strong public support. A neat sum was netted for the church.

Consolidation of Midwest Oil and Franco Petroleum

The Midwest Refining company, a $20 million entity filed at the Wyoming capitol, will absorb the Midwest Oil and Franco Petroleum firms, consolidating their refining plants contracts and assets. Shareholders receive 2 shares of the new firm for each $1 held, with $600,000 working capital moved to the new entity. The Basin Woman's club plans a meeting at the library next Wednesday led by the educational department. Anson Higby praises state fair support and requests publication of fair dates in the paper.

Wheat push urged by Ne Horn Mills manager

H W Shriver, manager of Ne Horn Mills, argues in an interview that the wheat market should improve and farmers should plant a liberal supply this spring. His company pledges the highest market price or better to buy, stressing the mill’s need for local wheat to avoid losses from freight. The Baptist Ladies Aid will host a ten cent social at the parsonage on Tuesday evening, March 17. There will be games and refreshments. Also notes about car purchases by D. Taylor in Trouble at Gebo Coal Camp Raid

A blind pig operation at Gebo coal camp was raided by Hot Springs county sheriff and a U S marshal. They arrested Gylvester Taylor, jailed at Thermopolia. Authorities say Taylor has repeated trouble of this sort and believe they have a clear case.

Stant Makes a Record in a Wyoming Town Visit

J Stant Brown of Kane known as the sage of Stinkingwater visited town on Friday and, after an extended interview on Big Horn Basin prospects, raced to catch a southbound Burlington train to reach Kane for a school officers election. The encounter helped him narrowly make the meeting and he reports the fruit crop safe unless a severe frost arrives. Roy Sehnck left for Cheyenne after promoting an oil company, while G J Schonk returned from Sheridan after attending a civil engineers society meeting.
