Fatal Shooting Near Feton Shapes Local Murder Case

Wm C Behne a carpenter was shot near Fenton in Big Horn county. William H Murphy, a sheepherder, was arrested and charged with murder. An inquest ruled the death came from two bullets, auto pistol used, Behne died at Greybull hospital after nine hours. Murphy pleads not guilty and remains jailed awaiting trial.

New State Game Law Overhauls Elk Deer and Moose Rules

The legislature enacts broad game law changes affecting elk deer and moose hunting limits seasons and licenses. Residents may kill male or female elk under a $2.50 license with option to add another elk. Moose hunting limited to 50 total with $100 license and wardens required. Fishing rules tighten with 20 pound limit and fishways required. The Sullivan act capital punishment applies to murder in the first degree, allowing a jury verdict with imprisonment.
