Long list of measures enacted or paused by the Thirteenth Wyoming legislature, including funding, public works, education, county offices, state institutions, taxation, and regulatory provisions. Names of bills and topics cover municipal improvements, state investments, hospital and penal funding, charitable allocations, and public welfare programs.
An eleven o'clock accident left a worker slipping from the second story to a pit beside the Basin State Bank. He struck his head bruising him all over. A traveling observer summoned aid. Dr. Herbert Harris treated him and he was taken to Basin hospital. No broken bones were found, internal injuries not yet evident, prognosis hopeful.
Miss Martha Daley graduated as a professional nurse from Basin hospital last Monday and received a diploma from Superintendent Mrs. Adriana Harris. Mine Dinkey completed a two year hospital course and was praised as one of the hospital’s most efficient students. The Basin hospital and management hold a high reputation in the region. Daley’s training prepares her for private practice locally and she is expected to find employment readily.
Cattle fed on alfifa and mangel beets at the T. B. Hunter place south of town showed notable gains this winter. The herd averaged 1018 pounds when moved to the Hawner ranch and, after seventy five days of feeding, averaged 12264 pounds. The article suggests continued trimulative feeding could further improve weights in the Basin.
A daughter was born to Mr and Mrs Ray Morton at their home last eight with mother and child reported doing fine.

At the Basin Woman's Club meeting on Wednesday Mrs. R A Morton expressed gratitude for support during her visit. Mrs Snow was named peace committee chair, October hosts planned for library extension committee, and Greybull club inspired by Basin visit. Dance chair Leighty announced a 28.10 surplus. D E Lewis led a program on Travel and Kathleen O Neil sang two pieces. Literature group meets next Tuesday at 2. Home economics and library coordinate placing a home economics library in the public library for public use.
Chief Engineer Cooper of Petera Milling Co Omaha conducted official inspections of alfalfa mills in Worland Greybull and Powell. He will prepare an exhaustive report detailing physical conditions affecting alfalfa milling in the Basin country for the company.
George Butler and Mies Minnie E Allen of Greybull were married Wednesday morning in a ceremony conducted by Rev G W Raper of the Baptist church. The couple, both popular in the sister town, are expected to be happy and join many friends in celebrating their union.
Mr and Mrs George Burge and two accompanying men from Lupton Gole visited Hart lands this week. They left Wednesday for Powell to tour a few days and plan to return to purchase lands north of town near the Booth ranch.
William Tilforth was severely bruised with three broken ribs and a barb wire cut after a bull gored him while guiding cows toward a stable north of Basin. Witness Mrs. Tilforth said he was dragged by the animal and pinned by barbed wire, but doctors report improvement and full recovery expected. The bull is to be disposed of after the incident.
R C May field manager for Billoge Sugar Co met Wednesday with Basin area farmers at the Progress club rooms. About two hundred acres were contracted to be grown nearby Basin. The contract price follows the ninth end county standard and is described as the best such offer from any sugar company. May said he regarded the deal as solid.
B C Hart, manager of the Big Horn County irrigation company, reports over 600 acres sold since the advertising campaign began. Winter sales and steady train arrivals bring homeseekers, with expectations lands will be fully disposed of by spring. Visitors from blizzard regions praise the climate, and Hart’s revolutionary campaign draws attention of real estate men and settlers. The spring is expected to bring a strong immigration movement and broader Basin business strength.
Mrs Chas Hopkins of St Joseph died at the family home Wednesday at one o clock, age fifty. The immediate cause was asthma and kidney trouble. Survived by husband and one daughter. Funeral Saturday afternoon in Purington with interment in the cemetery there. The deceased was well loved and had hundreds of friends. Republicans extend condolence to the bereaved family. Two men named Robert Clarke and Ed Malin of New York were arrested early this week for breaking into Ernest Caldwell's house five miles north of Greybubl. They were jailed and an information will be filed in district court. Some stolen goods were recovered.
A Kathyrn Pictures feature Adventures of Kathryn will be shown at the Acme Theater this Friday night. A pair of gold rimmed glasses in a case was found and the owner may reclaim them by presenting proof of ownership at Basin State Bank and paying this notice fee. H. H. Hime.
The court sustained Taft's 1909 withdrawal of oil lands in California and Wyoming, recognizing executive withdrawal power. Justices Lamar and Day filed opinions, with Day dissenting in part. firms with later entries may lose claims worth millions as Congress may act for relief.
The Progress association met at the Antlers for dinner with Dr. M H Smith presiding in Mayor Ferry's absence. R H Arends raised sugar beet farming as a topic and Dr Smith cited a local report of 140 gallons of syrup per acre from sugar cane last year plus seed and roughage. The syrup sold at $1 a gallon, making the crop potentially profitable. W H Pauley commented on club work and the meeting adjourned.
A series of calendar socials was held by Methodist church members. The first gathering occurred last week at Mr and Mrs Gibson. The second was a waffle breakfast at Mr and Mrs Berry on Monday morning. The third, a Gerieg, took place last evening at Mr and Mrs Armeling near LOW.
The Presbyterian church states there will be no prevaking services next Sunday. Preaching services will be held the first two Sundays in March, Republicem for chussy prining.
