In Chicago on June 22 the fifteenth Republican National Convention nominated William Howard Taft for president and James Schoolcraft Sherman for vice president on the first ballot. The Ballot follows bitterness over the Instruction plan, with Harding of Ohio placing Taft in nomination. Theodore Roosevelt delegates resisted. County Commissioner S. T. Johnson attended the board of equalization meeting after returning from Burlington.

Hayden M. White suffered a serious head injury when a timber used as a skid for moving I beams from the Main street bridge wreckage on Clear creek struck him among spectators. It tore the ear and lacerated his face. Dr. Conyers and Miller treated him and he remained home for a couple of days.

Progress Dinner Deliberations At Antlers Meeting
Delegates of the Progress club met at the Antlers last Wednesday with J B Thompson presiding. Minutes were approved and the secretary reported inquiries about Basin country and an Immigration Board plan to establish a state school teaching manual training and practical skills. The school would use local people as teachers, with lectures from business and farming leaders. The secretary was instructed to invite the immigration board secretary to visit and discuss the project. Thompson and Anderson reported on the get together, Prof Robinson of Lander and Kenner of the Chicago Record Herald spoke, and plans for a Wyoming section this summer were discussed. Kenner noted advertising at 550 per page for that issue and urged representation.

Under sheriff Frank Jr. Rue returned Saturday from Frannie with in charge Charles Inaudi charged with selling liquor without license. Inaudi released on $100 cash bond and arraigned Tuesday before Judge James F. Lampman, bound over to district court in $225 bonds. He procured cash for the bond and departed for Frannie.

Democratic Convention in Baltimore Nominates Kern and Bryan for Roles
The Democratic convention in Baltimore opened at 12 1 Tuesday with Chairman Mack presiding.
