Steve Jovich, arrested on a complaint by Gebo relatives, was escorted to Montana Monday by Under Sheriff F I Rue to enter coal mines. After talks with officers and relatives, Jovich pledged not to harm them and agreed to return. Officials believe the plan saves county expense by avoiding trial. Hanover canals back in service after flood delays
The Worland Grit notes rumors that canals were sidelined by a valley cloud burst. Baltimore July 2 The Democratic convention nominated Woodrow Wilson for president and Marshall of Indiana for vice president. Wilson won on the 46th ballot after Underwood's withdrawal, with 990 votes to Clark 84 Harmon 12 and 2 absent. Marshall secured the vice presidency after a quick lead over Burke, being proclaimed the nominee by acclamation. The delegates adjourned sine die at 1 56 a m and sang as they left the hall. Bryan proposed a plan to let Wilson form his own campaign committee but relented and pledged support. He gave a valedictory speech before stepping aside. Two cross walks were bid at 175 dollars by J H Welsh between the Big Horn County and Bain State banks and at the G W Black corner, but bids were postponed to the next meeting.

The Basin team traveled to Manderson last Sunday and defeated the Manderson squad 11 to 9 in a clean, well played game. Beall and Voss were the Manderson battery while Drumm and Harri man led Basin. Umpire H Smith of Biz Horn mills officiated to general satisfaction as a large crowd observed the match and Basin visitors returned home upbeat about the friendly contest.
