Death of A. A. Baldwin Drowned in Paint Rock Creek
Robert A. Baldwin of Hyattville drowned when his horse stumbled in Paint Rock Creek near Hyattville during a melt flood Sunday morning. The boy on the other horse raised the alarm. the body was found Tuesday downstream on a small bar. Baldwin, born 1864 in Keokuk Iowa, was a notable Big Horn County figure, banker, merchant, and former legislator. He leaves a widow Laura Davis Baldwin and two children Ruth and Robert, plus a mother, sister, and three brothers. He was active in Republican politics, Modern Woodmen, and Yeomen, with ties to Hyattville business and the Big Horn Bank in Basin. A cloudburst struck Buffalo at 6 80 causing a tidal flood that rushed through the business district and along the river. Property losses reach 300000 with Red Childs, 30, drowned attempting to save his sister and newborn. Other homes and stores were swept away as water roared through town. Convention at Buffalo forms northern Wyoming highway group
The Northern Wyoming Good Roads association met in Buffalo to establish the official Black Hills and Yellowstone route and build a working group for northern Wyoming counties. Burlington Defeats Basin In Wet Ball Game
A windy, rain threatened Sunday ball game at the fair grounds saw Burlington hand Basin a decisive defeat. Billy Kearns and Preator starred for Burlington while Drumm, Wise and Harmon led Basin. umpire Wegner. Basin's poor practice showed as Burlington piled up fourteen runs to Basin's nine. Basins officials blame lack of team work and call for regular practice. Burlington players praised as clean and pleasant visitors.
