Basin council debates licenses and highway aid
The town council met last Monday with Mayor Bedéth and councilmen Barnes Higby and Zane. They approved minutes and ordered license collection for drayage, filed an affidavit on the Pease building cost, and discussed cemetery lot deeds. Bonds for Fred Frisby and Big Horn Supply plumbing were approved. A member urged Basin support for an interstate highway via Cody. Mayor Booth was named to represent the town at a Buffalo meeting. Watering restrictions for lawns were set with a $5 fine and $1 reconnection fee. Treasurer’s report was filed, an audit was appointed, a councilman resigned and S H Smith was appointed. Accidentally Shot Gebo Man Killed Cleaning Gun
Oscar Durbin was accidentally killed at his Gebo home Tuesday evening when an automatic shotgun discharged while he cleaned it. Born November 25, 1882 in Clarkson, Kentucky, he married Kate Denton in 1909. Survived by widow and one brother W. E. Durbin. Funeral at Gebo with Rev. J. M. Jones. interment Worland. Durbin worked five years for Owl Creek Coal Co and was active in the town brass band and baseball team. his friends extend sympathy.
