Kane Couple Married in Kane in May in Kane County

Joseph Merrill Lowe and Mi emily Beyl of Kane were married on Tuesday at the home of the groom’s parents with the bride’s family in attendance. The ceremony united two popular Kane families and the couple plan a reception with friends and relatives.

Langer Leads In Early Republican Gubernatorial Race

Fargo reports show William Langer leading Gov. L. J. Frazier in the Republican gubernatorial contest. Early returns from 148 precincts indicate Langer with about 10 635 votes to Frazier 4 112, with gains for Langer over the nonpartisan league candidate. The first 12 precincts tally favors Langer 1 134 to 363 for Frazier.

Court Hears Beach Canal Dispute Over Sulivan Stock

Judge Metz opened a Tuesday session to hear claims that Sullivan interests led by W B Edwards voted 2700 acres of land stock with unpaid assessments, steering Beach Canal management and delaying Shoshone Canal work. The case was continued to July. Emblem residents filled the courtroom as Greybull reservoir district hearing began.

Accident on Paint Rock Injures Miss Ella McCarty

Miss Ella McCarty suffered a serious cut to her right leg when a Dailey Ford overturned during a ride on Paint Rock last Sunday. Her brother and War ren Dailey’s small child were in the vehicle. the child was only bruised. McCarty was taken to Basin hospital for treatment with expectations of a swift recovery.

Basin Secures State Regimental Band

Through the efforts of Director E. C. Hoover Basin wins state regimental band. Thirty four have signed up with several more expressing willingness to join and will be signed within days. Full details to be announced next week.

The Hall company at Piypewine announces no large dance tomorrow night. Tina Quipple is reportedly invited to attend, but the event is canceled and plans are unclear due to unspecified reasons.

Ruth O Neil wed George A Line at the home of Mr and Mrs James O Neil on South Seventh street The ceremony was conducted by Rev R M Jones of the M E church in the presence of close relatives and friends The bride is the youngest child of the O Neils and grew up in Basin The groom worked for the Peterson Company and has many friends Here they left for Indiana to visit relatives and may settle there permanently

Advertising barred at Basin free camp grounds

Directors of the Chamber of Commerce decide to bar all advertising from the Basin free camp grounds. To keep the grounds sanitary litter from advertising is to be discontinued. A telephone will be installed at the camp and a directory provided for touring visitors.

Basin crew fixes roads with simple tools

Tude Nelson reports the Basin crew did good work on the country roads last week using a dust pan broom rake 56 packages of sandpaper and a box of toothpicks. They filled many ruts and sandpapered before water from Medicine Lodge creek halted progress and someone kicked over the toothpick box.
