Former Town Marshal Convicted in Larceny Case

In district court Albert Fisher, former Greybull town marshal and constable, faced the State v Fisher on larceny as bailee. Faulkner freed in Grimm murder case at Montesano

In Montesano Washington Bert Faulkner 25 is freed after charges against him in the murder of William O Grimm Centralia Armistice Day parade victim are dismissed. Judge John M Wilson instructs the jury while the court notes insufficient preconcerted intent.

Selby v George resolves with defendant favored verdict

In Worland Wyoming a Washakie County case Fred E Selby vs Charles L George ended with a sealed jury verdict favoring the defendant and a judgment of 60 dollars. Attorneys Brome Hyde represented the plaintiff while C H Harkins of Worland represented the defendant. The related Hyde versus Alfalfa Milling Company suit for attorney fees was just starting as we went to press.

Barrett Kelley wedding in Thermopolis celebrates union

Last Saturday in Thermopolis Schuyler Barrett wed Miss May Kelley. Barrett, son of Mrs. Hannah Barrett of Basin, has worked as a driller in nearby oil fields. They honeymooned in Billings and then visited family before returning to Thermopolis. Friends extend congratulations.

Royal Neighbors and Modern Woodmen Dance Event

The Royal Neighbors entertained Modern Woodmen members on Wednesday evening with a social and dance. A large crowd attended and enjoyed a fine time. A buffet luncheon was served at midnight and the Hoover orchestra provided music.

Wyoming Bar Association Dinner Honors Judge Metz

The Wyoming Bar Association met in Basin with Reyn Leedom endorsing the stand of the bar and pledging his newspaper's support. A committee was named to arrange with the district judge for two yearly jury terms. Chas H Harkins and H W Rich were elected president and secretary respectively. A toast honored Judge Metz and the memory of Winfield Collins.

Word was received of the death of Mrs. R. G. Norton of Garland mother of Mrs. R. W. Spratt. Mr. and Mrs. T. W. Spratt of this place left on Wednesday to attend the funeral.

Alex Webber of Casper, a prominent sheep man, visited Basin this week and renewed acquaintance with friends from his Basin residence in 1902.

Death of Mrs Hagan in Basin

Mrs. Hannah Hagan wife of N W Hagan of the Yellowstone Motor Co died Friday after long illness following childbirth. Born February 8 1896 in Thompson North Dakota she married N W Hagan May 11 1918 in Alberquerque New Mexico and moved to Basin last year. She leaves her husband infant daughter Eula Marie her mother three sisters and five brothers. Funeral at Methodist church Wednesday at 3 30 with Rev ER M Jones in charge. Interment Mount View cemetery. Pallbearers from Yellowstone Motor Co included Carl Phenix Chas Hanson Rupert Anderson O R Hooker J Grosshart and Wm Jones.
