Today in Basin a large gathering of early settlers from across the Big Horn Basin and the state will hold their annual meeting. New officers will be elected and the day includes visiting, business sessions, a supper for 200 plus at Mountain View hotel, a picture show, and a dance lasting until morning.

Sudden Death of Mrs J E Lemcke Shocks Basin Friends

The sudden death of Mrs J E Lemcke, after a period of illness, shocks Basin area friends. She leaves a husband, children, and her mother. Pipeline from Elk Basin to Frannie Fourteen Miles Long

Illinois Pipe Line Co plans a fourteen mile six inch pipe line from Elk basin to Frannie with loading tanks and a Greybull refinery connection. Construction starts at once, camps at Frannie, target to run oil by May. Refinery capacity to double. Grass creek oil to be shipped there.

Cleveland-Wyoming hearing mounts for stockholder case

Capitalized 8 Hundred Thousand Will Develop Holdings In Elk Basin

Articles of incorporation for the Hurst Oil company were filed in the secretary of state's office last Wednesday. The firm, composed of Basin county residents, is capitalized at eight hundred thousand dollars and will develop lands mainly in Elk basin, aiming to become a major state producer. C KR Lyman, notable Cowley county citizen, visited town to pursue business and recently bought Stevens land by the Greybull river, planning to plant grain and alfalfa and move with his two sons. R O Cummings travels to Thermopolis for health springs. W Hadley, a Worland farm owner, is in the area for land matters.

County Officials Visit Crosler District School

County Attorney W. 35 Collins, Sheriff Wickwire and Mrs. Donald son, county superintendent, visited the school in the Crosler district above Otto last Monday. The visit followed a period of difficulty there, but the officials reported the matters are now in good condition and the visit was beneficial.

East Prussia War Losses Mount in German Report

A German government statement details East Prussia damage from two Russian invasions. It cites 24 cities and 600 villages destroyed, 300 estates ruined, 34 000 buildings plundered, 100 009 residences killed or damaged, 2 000 civilians killed or injured, 350 000 to 400 000 left homeless or driven out, thousands of livestock and poultry seized, and total losses estimated at 375 million dollars. Rehabilitation funds are being raised and reconstruction will be slow, especially near the border.

Members Husbands Party by Woman's Club in Library

On February 22 the Woman's Club hosts a social evening in the library honoring members' husbands. Mrs Hales C Hart leads a committee preparing games a musical program will start the evening, followed by dancing and card playing for those who wish. All members and husbands are warmly invited.
