Reported accord moves toward limits on naval construction with key support from Hughes plan advocates and allied parties. Officials suggest agreement could curb arms race and ease tensions, though details remain under negotiation.
Washington on December 14 reports that Great Britain the United States and Japan reached broad accord on principles for naval limitation. Technical details remain to be announced while Hughes Balfour and Admiral Kato finalize one phase. The plan aligns with American proposals with a shift allowing Japan to keep the battleship Mitsu and the US to retain Colorado and Washington.
Rev Edwin Bowling, longtime pastor of the Basin M E Church, left Wednesday for a Denver conference. Oliver Hower of Cowley will fill the Basin pulpit next Sunday both services and is invited to attend. Hower once led a major coastal church and now serves as vice president of the Wyoming State Farm Bureau.
A new state law takes effect December 31 1921 requiring school buses to be placarded at each end. It makes passing standing buses a misdemeanor with a $50 fine for first offense and elevates injuries from such passing to a felony.
The state highway department reached a ten year lease with Basin city council for land near the town hall to serve as mechanical headquarters. Buildings for material storage trucks and a repair shop will be erected, employing several mechanics and bringing new families to town.

Guy M. Spence and Miss Mabel Harris of Greybull were married by Justice Bonwell at his residence Wednesday morning. The couple, popular in the oil industry town, were accompanied by Mr. and Mrs. Ly T. Spence of Greybull and received many congratulations.

Mrs C P Brown of the Golden Rule announces a large party for Basin schoolchildren on Monday December 26. It is expected to run 2 30 to 5 00 pm in the gym with music dancing games and refreshments for all. The event begins a series of annual gatherings Mrs Brown plans to host.

The Basin Woman's Club met in the library with vice president Mrs. R. G. Belton presiding. Resolutions in memory of Mrs. A. W. Coons were read, and the resignation of recording secretary Mrs. J. W. Brown was accepted. Mrs. F. L. McNown arranged the program on Christmas Carols, Rev. L. A. Losey spoke on Henry Van Dyke, and the high school chorus sang carols. Hostesses Mrs. J. E. Traller, Clara Collins, L. M. Blair, and Miss Viva Phelan served refreshments.
Louisa Chapter No 16, 0. E. S. held its annual election last Monday night naming Hope Skovgard as W M and Charles Vandevender as W P. Emma McNown became associate matron with Nellene Zaring as secretary and Bertha Vandevender as treasurer. Conductress is Mary Beck with Laura Atherly as associate conductress and Anna D Patten, Nellie Avery, and Wm C May as trustees. Installation is set for December 26.
The Alfalfa Commercial Club of Worland Wyoming calls a December twentieth 1921 meeting to urge a special Wyoming Legislature session. Delegates from Big Horn Basin districts are invited to discuss tax reform penalties public utility powers and low interest long term financing for irrigation and drainage bonds.
Temple Lodge No 20 A F and A M held their annual officers election on Wednesday evening naming Gould Avery Frisby Patten White and Cockins with West as trustees. A special meeting for installation is planned for Wednesday evening. The turkey dinner and bags fundraiser drew praise from Presbyterians and Ladies Aid. A chamber of commerce room meeting next Monday at 7 30 pm invites those interested in forming a cod and gun club.

Chairman Fordney says adjusted compensation legislation will be the first order of business for the new year, focusing on funding methods to pay a soldier bonus. A state wide convention at Thermopolis last Friday and Saturday organized a farmers relief group to combat the N P L and radical propaganda. The new body aims to offset agitators in agriculture and provide relief efforts, with a record against radical organizations.

Vice President Bracken of the Hurlington system visited Basin yesterday. He conducted an inspection trip over the line aboard a four car special train.
A seven pound daughter, Priscilla Ann, was born to Mr. and Mrs. Thos. McKinney in Denver on Tuesday. Both mother and child are reported doing fine. Mrs. McKinney was formerly Constance Bkoggard of this place.
A well attended dance took place in Hyattville last Saturday night with Gould and Hanson providing the music. Attendees report good time and lively dancing throughout the evening.
