Potato Fields Make Good Beet Seed Bed
A large average potato harvest in many districts leaves fields in good condition for a beet seed crop next season. Newly broken alfalfa sod and intense cultivation kept soil in good mechanical shape requiring minimal spring work. Irrigation outlook remains favorable with substantial snowpack in the North and South Platte valleys and Poudre, Thompson, and St. Vrain systems.
