Western government oil boom unlocks vast mineral wealth

Washington reports a major start to exploiting government lands under the leasing law. Oil dominates early production with 18,236,262 barrels mined in the year ended last June and royalties totaling 3,616,862 barrels valued at 4.77 million dollars. The Basin area hosts a Basin CountyFarm Bureau event December 9 at the Methodist church basement with visiting Farm Bureau members. A large evening meal and presentations follow, plus poultry feeding guidance from Mr McNees of the University listing ration plans and care tips for hens. Rosenberry in Toils Over Fraudulent Check Charge

Edward Rosenberry was arrested Monday evening charged with passing a fraudulent check at Berry's grocery. He pleaded guilty before Justice Bonwell and was bound over to the next district court term in $500 bonds. He has passed several worthless checks recently at the Mandelson state bank Basin state bank and First National bank.
