Lovell to Get Modern Water Works System Soon
Lovell in Big Horn county will gain a modern water works system funded by a $25,000 bond issue sold at par. City attorney John P. Arnott closed the sale to Thomas G. Shepherd of Denver, a hydraulic engineer who will begin construction. Bond sale reflects Lovell’s credit and resourcefulness. Arnott’s Basin work impressed officials. Lumber trade outlook strengthens as basin subdivisions grow, with contractors engaging builders for new homes. The city marshals progress, MacDonald leading grader crews to remove weeds and improve cleanliness. officials hope the work continues until a tidier town is achieved.

Ed Benson buys a lot in Collins and Higby addition and will erect a residence there. He is gathering stone and materials for the new home. The Big Horn County Fair association will hold an agricultural exhibit October 4 5 6 7 and 8 with a balanced program of home horse racing broncho busting and field athletics by county school children. Visitors can tour the Carnegie Library showing memories of a growing town.

Burlington land seekers excursion returns with large turnout
The Burlington brought a semi monthly group of land seekers this week, among the largest in months, with many settlers heading toward the Big Horn Basin. Our town, as county seat, again receives a liberal share of arrivals from the basin. Mrs. John Flockhart of Shell fell ill Wednesday. Dr. Carter treated her through the night and she is improving.
