Ten Hurt as Four Cars Crash East of Barstow
An accident near Barstow involved four vehicles and ten people. A tow car owned by Slaton assisted a stalled car with a spotlight on engine activity when a Buick roadster driven by Dr. J J White struck the rear of a Chevrolet driven by Rami Connell. Miss Dayton, Miss Murphy, and Olive Garrett were injured, with Garrett suffering a deep cut near the eye. Drs J J White and Robert White, Arthur Henderson, and Miss Olive Garrett were treated after the crash, and all cars were towed to Central Garage.

Daggett Postmaster George Heller Dies at Home
Daggett postmaster George Bowen Heller, born 1861 in Philadelphia, died this week of heart disease and high blood pressure at his Daggett home. He had moved to Daggett two years ago with his wife Rhoda Massecar Hellerman, to whom he left a widow, and two brothers in the east. Reverend Isaac McRae conducted funeral services Wednesday afternoon, with interment in Daggett. Heller previously lived in Philadelphia and Ontario, worked for N. J. Taylor Co. and served as Sunday school superintendent for 15 years at Ashbourne Presbyterian. He traveled widely as a tinplate wholesaler and later spent time on the Pacific Coast before returning to Philadelphia.
