Mrs Mae Blue daughter of Mrs Geo Phillips died after internal hemorrhage led to emergency surgery. Doctor Denton diagnosed the condition after a visit from Trona. Guy Martin donated blood but the patient weakened and could not survive.

About thirty people enjoyed playing five hundred at the An tler's club Wednesday evening. Both prizes were won by Mr and Mrs Ralph Haan. The gentlemen served coffee and cookies. The group mused that kiddie kites would not fly, suggesting subscribing to the Barstow Printer for a year to get a kite. The kites are balanced and appealing to children. As the printer neared completion on Friday at 2 30 pm the news arrived that J H Sloan of Barstow had died at his home. Pneumonia was listed as the cause. A 25 year Barstow resident, he was 52 at his death and leaves many friends and a grieving family.
